HPS opens sports agreement talks with neighboring districts

The Hendricks Public School Board followed through on the promise made to parents at the Dec. 10 parent input meeting, and have begun talks with neighboring school districts in regard to sports.At the Tuesday, Dec. 19 meeting, Superintendent Bruce Houck said they have had initial talks with both Deubrook and Estelline and that both districts were receptive. Houck said the next step will have board members and administrations meeting to further the discussions. HPS is talking to South Dakota schools first, because if it is decided to enter a sports agreement with a South Dakota school, the agreement will have to be finalized in January…
