Three-day spring blizzard brings area to a standstill

A spring blizzard— the likes of which no one can recall seeing in recent years, and which will go down in the history books—hit the area hard over the weekend, causing event postponements, church and other cancellations and road closures.
The three-day event began Fri­day, April 13 with rain and snow accompanied by high winds in the morning. Around 12:30 p.m., thunder, lightning and darken­ing skies were noted. Already in a blizzard warning, the area was notified that northern Lincoln County was in a severe thunder­storm warning…
