Area embraces once in a lifetime experience

A long list of area residents were recently cheered on by trendy hipsters in the So Ho dis­trict of New York City. The same residents have been embraced in Sedona, California and else­where. The locals didn’t appear in person. They were projected onto movie screens as part of “Farmer of the Year,” a film shot mostly in Lincoln County. The film played Tuesday, June 26 at the Lake Benton Opera House, and Friday, June 29 it opens at the Red Barn Theater in Hen­dricks.
This may be the first time a feature film was shot in south­west Minnesota. “Farmer of the Year” was primarily filmed in Tyler, but also Lake Benton and Marshall…
