Veterans Day program on Monday

November 7, 2018

One hundred years ago, on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m., the Armistice with Germany which ended the Great War (WWI) went into effect. As a tribute, Woodrow Wilson instituted Armistice Day one year later, to honor the men and women who fell in combat during the First World War. In 1938, 20 years after WWI ended, Armistice Day was made a federal holiday and post offices and government offices were closed. Today, we continue to celebrate Armistice Day; however, we do it under a different nameā€¦ Hendricks Public School is hosting a Veterans Day program on Monday, Nov. 12 at 12 p.m.
