Adam Anthony Hartman was born on May 28, 1990 in Brookings, South Dakota, the son of Jeffrey Hartman and Michelle (Lathrop) Kampmann. He grew up and attended school in Brookings, graduating from Brookings High School in 2008. He briefly attended Southeast Technical Institute studying small engine repair. Growing up, Adam was very involved with Motocross. It was truly his passion. He loved teaching his sister Sierra how to ride motorcycles. He held various jobs over the years in Brookings and Sioux Falls, spending a majority of his time working in the HVAC industry.
Adam loved spending time with his family and friends. He held a very special bond with his siblings and cousins. Bean bags, boating and socializing with people were the joys of his life. He was extremely outgoing and quick to make friends with those he would meet. His niece Ella held a very special place in his heart.
Because of his love for others, Adam was able to give the ultimate gift in his untimely death, in donating his organs to those in need of his lifesaving decision. Three people will now carry Adam’s legacy on because of his selfless act.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father Jeffrey (Trudi) Hartman of Brookings, South Dakota; mother Michelle (Kyle) Kampmann of Hendricks; three siblings— Jeffrey (Randi) Hartman, Jr. of Brookings, Katie Hartman of Sioux Falls, and Sierra Hartman of Brookings; niece Ella Brooke; step-siblings Jeremy Kambel of Las Vegas, Nevada, Zachary (Maymy) Kambel of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jill (Nate) Quam of Brookings, Dayna Kambel of Brookings, and Sheridan Kampmann of Sioux Falls; maternal grandparents Vern and Shirley Lathrop of Brookings; paternal grandmother Delores Hartman of Brookings; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
