Ducks Unlimited (DU) is concerned with wetland restoration. Their vision statement reads, “The vision of Ducks Unlimited is wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever.” Wood ducks are just one type of waterfowl that benefits from DU restoration projects.

Ducks Unlimited (DU) is interested in wetland con­servation, which makes Lincoln County a place where they can dig in and get their hands dirty. Re­cently, a DU conservation project was begun along US Highway 14, just west of Tyler. A complete story about that and other area conservation projects will be coming next week, but first, just who and what is DU and why are they so in­terested in this region?
