In 2016, Vince O’Connell and Tyler native Kathy Swanson were in the Tyler area shooting a film with the title “Hap and Ashley.” The film recently made its debut at the Sedona International Film Festival in Sedona, Arizona under its new title, “Farmer of the Year.” Several local area residents were used as extras in the shooting of the film. Swanson said the movie was popular with attendees.
“There were two screenings,” Swanson said. “Both sold out.”
Swanson said the film ended up being the runner-up for the Audience Choice Award and was attended by several area residents who made the trip down to see it.
