Peggy M. Houselog, age 56 of Lake Benton, former­ly of Elkton, South Dakota, passed away Saturday, April 14 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler.
Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Elkton, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Elk­ton, South Dakota. There was a 5 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, April 18, fol­lowed by visitation until 7 p.m. at Skroch Funeral Chapel, Elkton, South Da­kota. www.skrochfc.com
Peg was born July 30, 1961 in Flandreau, South Dakota, to Roger and Dar­lene (Otto) Bauer. She went to school in Elkton, South Dakota. She had sev­eral jobs she enjoyed, with her last one being at Twin City Fan in Elkton, where she enjoyed her co-work­ers and made many won­derful friendships.
She was blessed with having two children, Kim and Heath. Peg loved being around family, her grand­children, hosting family gatherings and loved her coffee go-ers. She enjoyed keeping up with her soap operas and helping other residents at the nursing home. She had a sense of humor that many people enjoyed. She left a very large impression on people in a short amount of time when being somewhere.
In 2007 she suffered a massive stroke, which left her speechless and para­lyzed. She was very much admired for her strength, patience and courage over the past 10 years. Peg was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.
Peg is survived by her children, Kim (Mike) Bloom of Tyler and Heath (Brittany) Houselog of Lake Benton; brothers Jim (Tammie) Bauer, Tim (Toni) Bauer, and Dave (Kristina) Bauer, and sis­ter Kathy (Steve) Kopecky, all of Elkton, South Da­kota; grandchildren Jacob, Adam, Benjamin, Abigail, Merrick, Malahna and Macrae; niece and neph­ews. Peg was preceded in death by her father Roger, mother Darlene, and sister Joan.
