Patricia “Patti” L. Gut­brod, age 69 of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully from complica­tions of breast cancer on May 24 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital with her husband and daughters by her side. She courageously fought breast cancer from 2004 through 2018.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 22 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Arco. The family will re­ceive friends for visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. Gener­ations Funeral Home and Crematory of Tomahawk, Wisconsin is assisting the family. Patti was born May 23, 1949 in Arco to Cletus and Gladys (Christiansen) Schreurs. She was married to Douglas Gutbrod on June 8, 1996.
Patti graduated from Tyler High School in 1967. She later attended Alexan­dria Technical and Com­munity College obtain­ing her associate degree in the medical secretary program. Patti moved to Minneapolis after gradu­ation, where she worked at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in the Radiology Transcription Department for 32 years. Upon retire­ment in 2010, Patti and Douglas left Minneapolis and moved to Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
Patti was “Angel Mom” to Douglas’ two daughters, Abigail and Ashley. Some of Patti’s biggest joys came from spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She always looked forward to fam­ily outings when everyone could be together. Patti en­joyed gardening and mak­ing things beautiful. She was happiest when there was dirt under her finger­nails. Patti liked to ride on their Harley and enjoyed traveling the country, es­pecially out west. She loved live music, dancing and living life to the full­est.
Survivors include her husband Douglas Gutbrod of Tomahawk, Wisconsin; daughters Abigail Gutbrod of Tomahawk, Wisconsin and Ashley (Corey) Reh­waldt of Richfield; grand­children Presley Gutbrod, Nolan Rehwaldt and Mor­gan Rehwaldt; her mother Gladys Schreurs of Mar­shall; her sister Nancy (Wayne) Stahnke of Olivia; and her brother Wayne (Darlene) Schreurs of Hendricks. Patti is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Cletus, her sister Judy Schreurs, and her brother Alan Schreurs.
Memorials are appreci­ated to the Aspirus Wau­sau Hospital Palliative Unit in Patti’s name.
