Roger Peters

October 18, 2018

Sept. 22, 1967 – Oct. 8, 2018

Roger Dean Peters, son of Dean and Karen (Bauer) Peters Hays, was born Sept. 22, 1967 in David City, Nebraska. He went to heaven Oct. 8, 2018.
Roger was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tyler. He attended school in Tyler and graduated from Southwest Minnesota Technical College in Granite Falls. Roger owned and operated Peters Auto Salvage. Roger was married to Sabrina Cardiel. After one and a half difficult years of illness, Roger passed away from kidney cancer that metastasized.
Roger had a vivid interest in history that began at a very young age. It spanned from King Tut’s time to modern day wars and included all history. He was in 4-H with pigs as his project, winning Grand Champion at the Lincoln County Fair. He also collected spiders to send to Harvard University. When he visited the desert he looked for insects and snakes. Roger loved classic cars and collecting all sorts of antiques. He liked spending time with his children and grandchild. He had a great sense of humor, which he used even during his illness. Roger had an incredible work ethic and would often work day and night.
Roger was preceded in death by his father Dean Peters, his grandparents, his sister Jamie, four of his biological siblings, and one niece—all who passed away from cancer; and two siblings who died of other causes.
Roger is survived by his mother Karen Peters Hays; his brother Charles (Jill) and family; his nieces and nephew, Lacey, Zach and Molly; his children— Philip Cardiel (son Michael), Dillon Peters, Cody Peters and Scott Peters; and five biological siblings.
Blessed be his memory.
